Creating [anything] is at the core of both six dot DESIGNS and my work. I’m a long time lover of making, both in the digital and non-digital world. My passions for both type and drawing merge with my hand lettered type projects, and my love of tactility leads to many fun interpolations in fiber and wood. Besides creating designs in many media, I am often found teaching at local colleges and universities as well as various type workshops in the Houston[ish] area. I love to cook, read, run and, best of all, be with my family. A really supportive husband, two kids, two cats and one energetic not-so-puppy mean life is never quiet or calm.
Beyond being a designer, I am an educator. I am certified to teach K-12 art in Texas, and from that, discovered a love of teaching. I moved on to the college level, then pursued my MFA in graphic communications at the University of Houston so I could keep teaching at that level. I have a passion for introducing students to all aspects of art and design, from the most basic to honing their skills to the level they need to become intellectual and creative designers.
